A rug defines a space and, through color and shape, creates coherence between the furniture and accessories in a room. In toasted and burnt tones, the Merge Kelim rug reinterprets traditional kelim craftsmanship and combines Ferm Living's design DNA with a distinct sensibility for geometric shapes and color blocking.
Our Kelim rugs are hand-woven, so the weave may vary slightly from one piece to another. The technique used is the 'Punja' loom, a traditional, manual loom that is among the oldest weaving techniques. The wool yarn is hand-dyed, and variations in shade may occur due to the nature of the wool and dyes. The kelim weave and wool yarns have a characteristic, coarse, and textured feel. This is part of the inherent identity of traditional kelim rugs.
